Searchfeast
is a kind of poor man's alternative to CBMall. THe basic version
is free. It doesn't perform exactly the same way as CBMall.
Here are the differences.
(1)
Rather than being presented by a direct link, it is designed
to be presented to your guest by a pop-under on exit, to catch
outbound traffic and give you a last ditch effort to make
a buck. I don't like pop-ups, so I don't use it.
(2)
Because it is free, Mulligan needs a way to make it worth
his while, so he built in a feature that 10% of the time the
clickbank affiliate links are his not yours. You don't know
when that's the case. Also there are three featured links,
and he controls the bottom one.
If
it weren't for the pop-ups this might be a better route for
the marketer on a tight budget. It's a sort of pay-as-you-earn
system, which seems pretty fair to me.
On
the other hand, since the CBMall guarantee is that you still
own it even if you request a refund, then along with the pop-under
problem on searchfeast it's pretty hard to not recommend going
the CBMall route instead. That's the way I went, and my recommendation.
But
please re-read my cautions in the CBMall review again. If
you don't have time and effort to expend promoting it, you
will be disappointed. If you will not put in the work, then
just stick with Searchfeast. But I urge you to alter the code
if you have the technical ability, to make it act as a storefront
rather than as a pop-under. It's not easy to do by the way.
I used a rather sneaky javascript method in my links so that
I can bring it up for you on your request rather than as a
pop-under. It wasn't easy and I had to get help from experts-exchange
to learn how.
