Acutions
For Income by Dave Espino

I
did some research on Auctions for Income by Dave Espino.
Let
me cut to the chase - I am not recommending it.
You
do get what is promised:
- "Click
Start" Video (20 minutes or so)
-
"Click Start" Manual (55 pages)
-
"Turning Household Trash Into Cold Hard Cash"
Manual (37 pages)
-
"Seized Property Sales" Manual (35 pages)
-
"Wholesale License To Profits!" Manual (24 pages)
-
Access to the Member's Web site
-
30 Minute One On One Auction Startup
However
- by
the time you pay a fee to upgrade the video to a DVD rather
than VHS and pay for S&H it's about $65.
The
manuals are exceedingly basic. They are very thin, very big
print, with huge margins for "notes."
Some
people who are complete beginners have found them useful for
learning the basics of selling on eBay, but it is nothing
more than the simple instructions you already get from eBay.
The
big kicker is the (expected) upsell. There is nothing wrong
with upselling additional products of value, but there are
countless accounts of very high pressure series of calls.
They pretend to be "screening" you to see if you
might be a good candidate for coaching.
The
calls continue and you keep being kicked up to ever higher
levels of "management" until you shell out thousands
of dollars (starting at $5000). It is almost impossible to
get them to stop the calls.
So
is the coaching program worthwhile? Emphatically NO! I've
found several descriptions of what people got. The most succinct,
clear summary of experiences I found is one written by a Robert
and Linda on a complaints.com.
I've
written to Robert and Linda to ask for permission to reprint
their article here. Until I get that permission I'll just
give you the link Robert
and Linda on Auctions for Income on complaints.com (opens
in a new window).
Obviously
from this story (and many I found just like it) the coaching
is not concerned with helping you succeed. It is strictly
a "clean out" of your wallet.
If
you really want the basic information to get started, these
thin magazine-size books may be helpful. Some beginners have
found them useful. But be warned - you'll soon be told you
don't have everything you need. You will be told you "need"
expensive coaching, which, if you pay for, you'll also find
isn't enough.
