Stone
Evans is indeed a reputable marketer. He primarily produces
one product, the Plug In Profit system. He certainly is not
small potatoes either. He makes a great deal of money off
of this product and many of his customers also do well with
it. Others do not. Please read the information below to understand
how it works, with some positive aspects and some pitfalls.
Overview:
Plug
In Profit is a sort of cyclical concept. It is itself an affiliate
product you can sell, but the product is centered around a
hosting service designed to sell other affiliate products.
Basically
it works like this. In order to purchase the product, you
are required to sign up for several other affiliate product
services, namely:
- Trafficswarm
- SFI
- IMC
(Derek Gehl)
- Empowerism
- Host4Profit
Once
you have signed up for these and chosen a domain name he will
set you up with a Web site which you can customize and which
comes with several features including built-in autoresponders
and mailing services, sales tracking and several others.
Of
course, beyond the income he makes from the hosting package,
he also sets himself up so that you are primarily a sub-affiliate
under him for most of the programs and products you will represent.
This
is a very clever system and very tempting. But read below.
There are some things that bother me about it.
Positive:
Aa I said above,
this is a very clever system and Stone Evans has done well
to provide it - both for himself and for many clients. For
those who don't know how to go about building an affiliate
Website, or just want the assistance if a Plug-in turnkey
setup for affiliate selling, this is brilliant and can be
quite profitable.
Many
of my readers are beginners, and when we correspond I find
that they have no idea where to start. They have no Web writing
skills, don't know what affiliate products to sell, and need
a helping hand. Stone Evans has provided for just such a group
here.
In
the hands of the right person, Plug In Profits can
be both Plug-In (turn-key) and very profitable.

Negative:
Now
for the juicy bit. What's wrong with Stone Evans and Plug
In Profits?
Fortunately
for those considering Stone Evans Plug In Profits package
there is a wonderful forum on the Warrior
Forum system devoted to just Plug In Profits. From the
link I just gave, scroll down to the "Support and Off
Topic Forums" section and you see a Plug In Profits forum
heading. Here you can begin to understand many of the struggles
and successes many people are having and the time and money
they spend - as well as what they get out of it.
Problem
1: The biggest problem is that all the various costs
add up fast. SFI is not free. You have to upgrade to a premium
account to get profit back, Then there is your cost of the
package itself, and the domain name, and the hosting. Then
you'll keep finding out there are more and more things to
purchase as you go along. For example there is the "Success
University." Get a load of this post on the forum I mentioned
above: (Some spelling errors have been corrected on behalf
of the poster).

Beginning
to get the picture? Prepare for constant, very expensive upselling
with lot's of regular membership dues to pay. Yikes!
Problem
2: Income is far from automatic. Be prepared to work,
hard and a lot.
One
poster to the forum explained how he is spending 6 hours a
day seven days a week and not getting anywhere.
Now
this is generally true in all Internet Marketing, but be aware
that once you get involved in Plug In Profits you will have
to put in a great deal of time. Just going through the 30-day
plan will take a long time. As Stone explains, it does not
mean it will take you only 30 days to success. You may take
much longer going through the plan. And when you're done,
you will only understand what you need to do - you will not
have done it.
Many
- no make that most - people never make it through the 30
day plan because they get discouraged, find out it was more
work than they thought, or get sidetracked with other ideas
and projects.
Plug
In Profits is something you really have to devote yourself
to with a very focused single mindedness.
Problem
3: Part of the "system" is to use Trafficswarm.
Trafficswarm is worthless. I do not recommend it and I have
tested it to the hilt.
It
is nothing more than an ad rotator system. You click links
which you do not look at in return to have other people click
your links and ignore them.
You
can waste hours (or dollars) for this "swarm" of
traffic and I guarantee you will have nothing to show for
it except lost time or money.
This
is not just my opinion. Yes I do have experience to back it
up, but so do many other users who echo these same words.
Don't fall into the Trafficswarm trap!
(I
should mention that there is one use for traffic exchanges
that may be of some value and that is for email collection
(IE "squeeze") pages.
Worth
it?
This
depends. If you have little experience and are not a do-it-yourselfer,
but you have lots of time and money to spend, and a lot of
resolve to make it work, then go for it. You may do well.
However, don't think you will just buy Plug In Profits and
it will all be peachy, easy money. It will not.
Don't
get me wrong. Those who do apply themselves can really do
well - very well - even extremely well. But please don't just
add this package as "another" package to your arsenal.
You need to commit yourself to it to make it work.

Program
Plug In Profits is itself an affiliate
Webmaster system. Aside from that you can sell Plug In Profits
as an affiliate program itself if you own it. You cannot sell
it as an affiliate if you are not a paying owner.

Guarantee
There is a money-back guarantee on the
hosting portion of the package. However, remember that to
start up in Plug In Profits you will be signing up with a
number of different agencies and payments will be going to
PIP, SFI, Host4profits, and other places. Recovering all your
investments would be a nightmare. (top)
