Although
not his top seller, this is one of the most talked about products
Green offers. This is probably because it's a pretty novel
approach not covered very well by other Marketing gurus. The
idea here is primarily that forums, if set up correctly, are
indexed by search engines, including Google. With all the
content added by your forum members, it gets a lot of attention
on the search engines, without you having to develop the content.
This means targeted traffic, pure and simple.
Green
himself has a very successful large forum at his site. One
very nice benefit of the forum is that you get a great deal
of candid questions that give invaluable insight into improvements
you need to make in your own website, products, articles,
tactics, promotions and so forth. you know what people are
interest in, what they talk about, the confusions they have
navigating your site, what captures their attention, and so
on. No other medium can elicit this kind of information from
your audience so effectively.
Also,
no other medium I know is as good at establishing credibility
as a forum. When a marketer (or marketing guru) comments in
a forum, they are real and personal to their readers. Participants
feel in touch with them, and that builds trust. No ezine or
website can build trust like a good forum discussion can.
People feel you are there for them, supporting them, and they
trust you because of it.
For
most of us, though, knowing the right software or services
to use is the first hurdle, and Green covers that. Then you
have to make a lot of decisions about rules. Really, this
can get very hairy quickly if you don't prepare.
So
should you buy it? As I've been saying about most of Green's
products, not if you're a marketing beginner and you're still
back at square one, trying to set up your web site and decide
on a business plan. Stick with one of the entry level courses
for that. But when you're ready to start a forum, go for it.
by then you're probably making enough that $40 is peanuts.
With the potential for thousands - how can $40 be an issue?
Now
the details: The basic package is $39.95
There are two bonuses: (1) Where to get the software and (2)
How to use your forum to get search engine results.
The
gold package is $57.95 and I was disappointed to see that
he isn't clear what is included for the extra money. It is
simply stated as "the insider knowledge that will have
visitors returning to your forum time and time again."
I think this explanation could be improved. Am I just paying
an extra $18 for a paragraph, or for an ebook, a three-page
report? What is it? Please Mr. Green, give us a little more
to go on here. (top)
