While
How to Write a Newsletter is primarily for print media (although
it covers electronic newsletters too), the Easy Ezine Toolkit
is specifically for people who want to write an electronic
ezine. It covers how to start an ezine, how to build your
opt-in list, and how to profit from your ezine. By his own
admission, Mr. Green says the toolkit is aimed specifically
at those wanting to run an ezine for a profit. If you want
to just keep your niche club informed, this product may not
be for you.
This
package focuses more on layout and content than on discussions
of different ways to send out an ezine. There are many pros
and cons of different methods.
But
there is some information on "resources" needed
as well as a lot of good information on building your subscriber
base.
As
usual, for all of Michael Green's materials, he doesn't mess
around with a lot of fluff. He get's to the point (I wish
a few others would learn from him), and his information is
quality information.
By
the way, today there is very little distinction between the
terms ezine and newsletter, though technically a newsletter
should be more geared toward product announcements or unique
uses for products, while an ezine, meaning electronic magazine
is generally more generic and includes free articles. But
there are no hard and fast rules.
I
do not own this package, so I had to search high and low for
some negative feedback from someone, anyone. I didn't find
any, but I did find lots of positive comment from users (not
sellers but actual small-guy users in discussion forums).
Apparently they're all pleased with their purchases.
However,
I extend an open call for any negative feedback here. If you
have any, please email me (you may use the form on the Contact
page).
You'll
have to choose your products carefully if you don't want to
spend multiple thousands on various marketing products, so
I'd reserve this purchase for those who are struggling specifically
with these issues. It is targeted to troubleshoot those who
need this specific information. If that is you, then you certainly
stand to make FAR more from the product than you spend on
it.
Now
about the offers. The basic price is $39.95.
The
gold price of $58.97 includes six ebooks on (1) The Handbook
of Ezine Publishing - by Kate Shultz, (2) Make Ezine Advertising
Pay - by David A Eck, (3) Ezines Unleash the Power of the
Internet - by Linda Caroll, (4) The Marketing and Promotional
eBook - by Merle Stinnett (5) Eazy Ads - Place your own free
ads in over 70 Ezines - by Michael Southon, and (6) Ezine
Advertising - by Pamela Heywood. Sorry but I have not had
time to research these ebooks to review them.
The
platinum price of $76.97 includes both offers above plus a
pop-up generator. Since I am generally opposed to pop-ups,
I do NOT recommend this platinum package.
As
far as bonuses go He is offering two
(1) Successful Ezine templates, and
(2) The Ezine Resource Kit (which helps a little fill in the
gap left by the main package).
If
you're looking for this information, then I recommend this
product (regular or gold). But if you're just starting out
and trying to figure out where to spend your small amount
of available money, stick with a primary course like Corey
Rudl's or better yet, Key Evoy's. (top)
