Internet
Marketing Center Mentoring Program (This

I
get occasional questions about the Internet Marketing Center's
Mentoring program. It costs thousands of dollars and promises
personal mentoring to walk you through getting your business
up and running.
However,
I am not recommending the mentoring program at this time.
I've gotten too many emails and read too many negative stories
about the program.
Here
are the primary complaints I've put together.
(1)
The mentoring is no deeper in nature than the information
in the excellent "Insider
Secrets" course.
(2)
The mentor very slowly walks you through the program, then
drops you when the time is up, even though you have not covered
the promised material or achieved any success.
(3)
Both email and phone support to IMC is poor (as mentioned
in my main page on Derek
Gehl).
(4)
When up against specific challenges such as building your
Web page you get nothing more than cursory references to basic
Web building in Dreamweaver or in BeBiz.
(5)
The step by step walk through in BeBiz
for less than $200 is as good as or better than the multi-thousand
dollar mentoring program.
Those
who have complained about not getting their money's worth
have had difficulty getting full refunds.
I
have no hesitation recommending the very excellent "Insider
Secrets" course by the Internet Marketing Center,
and I'm even fairly impressed with BeBiz
(although it doesn't go far enough in some areas), but I cannot
recommend the mentoring course. Here
is one excellent article by someone who had a bad experience
with the mentoring course. It closely echoes personal correspondence
I've had with other students of the program.
