This
is a large package, now featured at the top of the Web page.
It is 13+ hours of on 9 DVD's of "Advanced Secrets",
and includes a fat workbook. It is excerpts from a seminar
that leaves you wishing you had more extensive tapes of the
entire thing. The edited cuts are not always smooth. Once
again, in typical Rudl style, this series is touted as advanced
or more powerful because they are the techniques that he himself
used before his death, and that Derek Gehl continues to use
today. And once again, while I think the product is worthwhile,
I'm a bit offended by this ad campaign. It implies that he
has held back the good stuff from his flagship course. How
does he expect us to succeed if he keeps holding out key information?
So
is there indeed key information that isn't included in the
regular course? Yes there is. As you listen to the very first
DVD you'll hear Rudl comment on some information that this
isn't in the Secrets course.
Be
prepared for a whirlwind presentation. In order to fit the
entire intended outline of material into the seminar, Rudl
talks at breakneck speed. He constantly comments on how he's
behind and just tries to talk faster. Much of the time Derek
Gehl stays on stage and helps because Rudl's voice is worn
out. Gehl doesn't talk quite as fast as Rudl, but that just
means they get farther behind.
The
typical format for each topic is a list of everything that
isn't working or not to do, followed by a list of what is
working.
There
is a common ad campaign that is floating around that looks
like an honest review, but is a canned pitch - it starts out
"I've just spent the weekend 'locked away' with my DVD
player and a huge new video product from Corey Rudl, called
. . ." When you see this "review" please know
that the Web owner is deceiving you. He or she did not write
that review. It is canned and copied from the marketingtips
website.
As
with most of Rudl's information content, it is indeed worth
the price IF you are in a position to use it to increase your
bottom line. While $197 sounds expensive, if a single idea
returns $1000. you've, made 10x your money on it. But if you're
brand spankin' new and you're not even started up yet, go
with the regular Insider Secrets course first. It will lead
you through setting up your organization, from your business
plan forward. That must come before you start applying some
of these advertising techniques. Once you have it going, come
back and get this one later.
The
first four videos are by Rudl and Gehl. The last four videos
are by other affiliates that were brought in to tackle specific
topics. For Example, Paul Hartunian, the expert on writing
press releases presents one tape. There is a lot of good information,
but of course key information is left out and you are invited
to buy Hartunian's course.
I
don't really appreciate being given partial information and
a call to buy more when I pay $200 for a course, but there
is enough here to be helpful, and certainly more than $200
worth if you are smart enough to fill in the gaps and use
the information you get.
Some
information is quickly becoming outdated. For example, there
is a lot of information about using Overture adwords, but
that no longer exists. It is now run by Yahoo.
There
is a very good section on getting whitelistings for you mailing
list. It's a subject I hadn't really thought about much before,
and I could have spent hours trying to find the information
on my own that he gives here in an hour or so.
After
you have the basic Insiders course, there is certainly enough
information here to recommend you go on to this one, but be
sure you already have a site set up and are running your business.
This is not for the absolute beginner. (top)
